Fete in the Hospital car Park
The weather was kind and our May fete raised almost £1000. This money boosts the League of Friends funds and enables us to provide equipment for The Vale. The money is used to purchase equipment which enables more services to be offered at the Vale.
Cake days are organised several times a year and generally raise around £300. Our next cake day will be in March. Please support us by making cakes or coming along, enjoying a coffee and cake. See details on our Events page.
The allotments are popular and 4 more are currently being created for those on the waiting list. A gardening club assists allotment holders to share ideas
Hospital Shop Christmas This year the shop was even more successful than in previous years. Christmas cards this year were printed locally and featured photos of local views taken by photographers Brian Wetton and Barbara Gibbons. These were much larger than our usual cards, some views being more popular than others, resulting in packs being split and cards sold separately. Some goods were donated and others were purchased for sale in the shop. Coffee was served on some of the days with cakes made by our volunteers. We thank all volunteers who assisted in making cakes, items for sale or working in the shop. We raised almost £2000, nearly double what had been raised in previous years.
Patients in Hospital at Christmas As in previous years, the League of Friends have provided funds for a small gift for those in hospital at Christmas and a few extra treats for their Christmas stay in hospital. These were much appreciated by those in hospital at Christmas
In 2017, we boosted our funds through several events. This was down to the efforts of the committee and a small group of volunteers. If you would like to join us or volunteer or help in any way, please contact us – see contact details on our Membership page.
